The City desires the auditor to express an opinion on the fair presentation of its basic financial statements in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America and the financial reporting requirement of Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statement No. 34, “Basic Financial Statements – and Management’s Discussion and Analysis for State and Local Governments.” The auditor shall also be responsible for performing certain limited procedures involving required Management Discussion and Analysis and the supplementary information required by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board as mandated by generally accepted auditing standards. The auditor is required to audit the schedule of federal, state and local financial assistance. The auditor may be requested to perform other auditing services at the discretion of the City. Any such additional work agreed to between the City of South Miami and the firm shall be performed only if a written agreement has been made subject to City approval.
