The Maricopa County Department of Public Health has a Safe Routes to School Grant that intends to fund the purchase of bikes for 2nd grade students who completed the Safe Routes 6-week bike safety training program at our four participating grant schools (Ironwood Elementary, Tumbleweed Elementary, Moon Mountain Elementary, Granada West Elementary). Minimum Specifications; 20” bike with durable steel frame, durable steel rims and 20" x 1.95" tires. - Components should include easy-to-use coaster brakes, hi-rise handlebars, comfortable grips, padded seat with quick-release lever for height adjustment and junior size pedals with reflectors. Must include a kickstand and come assembled. Various colors acceptable. Quotes should include quantity, build costs, shipping, taxes and all fees. Total cost must be under $35,300.00.
