The purpose of this Bid is to provide Crushed Stone and Stone Products for use by Essex County and its political subdivisions. When crushed stone products are purchased under this specification, trucks from Essex County or one of its political subdivisions shall be directed to the Contractor’s plant or stockpile area for loading and loaded via a site worker and front loader or other suitable equipment. In cases where crushed stone products are purchased delivered, the Contractor shall arrange for trucks to deliver a minimum of 1,000 tons per day. The Contractor must include a delivered rate per ton/mile one way, in order to use delivery via this bid. The Contractor shall be paid on the one-way distance charge. It is possible that County trucks may be working in conjunction with delivery by the Contractor.
