1. All University campus lawns in Level 1 and Level 2 areas are to be mowed, edged and string trimmed once per week. The lawns will be mowed at the height specified in the following chart during the growing season. a. Exceptions to the mowing scheduled, such as when the ground is too wet to mow, must be mutually agreed on by both parties. b. The pattern of mowing must be alternated to prevent ruts and lines. Tree wells must not be run through with mowers. c. If irrigation is damaged by mowing, then it must be repaired with the same or equivalent materials within 24 hours of said damage. d. Irrigation valve boxes must not be run over with mowing equipment. Irrigation valve boxes and covers must be kept clean, trimmed and not covered by grass, weeds or debris. Locations of said valve boxes must be noted. e. Grass clipping from mowing and string trimming must be collected. The collected materials must be composted off-site by the contractor. f. All tree pruning in any zone will be discussed with and agreed to with the University. Trees (new) younger than two (2) years will never be pruned. g. Trees planted by Department of Conservation & Resources (DCR) require consultation with the Facilities Department to determine if DCR has jurisdiction over specialized care and replacement.
