The scope of work consists of developing design documents to remodel and renovate various spaces within the Forensic Science Center where the existing Criminal Investigation Laboratory is located. With the relocation of the Crime Lab to the Barlite Facility, several spaces within the 3-story building will become available for the expansion by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The newly vacated areas on three floors that formerly contained the Criminal Investigation Laboratory area are to become new offices, workstations and storage that is needed for the Medical Examiner’s Offices. The project is located at 7337 Louis Pasteur Drive, San Antonio, TX 78229 within the University of Texas Health Science Center campus. The County anticipates the following scope will be included: Basement Level: o Conversion of approximately 2,500 S.F. of existing lab space into offices and storage. First Floor Level: o Expansion of approximately 1,450 S.F. of existing storage space for additional workstations. Second Floor Level: o Remodel of approximately 6,700 S.F. of office to accommodate Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office staff.
