The New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) desires a system that provides near real-time information about locations of buses and specialized vehicles used for pupil transport, recording of pick-up and drop-off of students attending schools, with a medium for communication with all stakeholders. OPT also seeks a configurable and/or customizable COTS or a custom integrated system that will provide a group of synergetic functions, including dynamic routing, in the largest school district in the United States. School busing is one service OPT provides to NYC students attending public, charter, non-public, and early childhood schools and programs from 77 contracted vendors serving 172,067+ students during a school year.
