A. Prepare all surfaces to receive materials and clean surfaces to remove all foreign matter. Surface preparation shall include sanding, scraping, power washing, priming, patching and caulking where needed, and mildew removal if needed. B. Repair damage to wood columns located in the front and rear of building. C. Apply one prime coat to surfaces prior to finish coat in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. D. Apply one complete finish coat of Benjamin Moore exterior white acrylic paint or equivalent approved by the Superintendent of Public Works. Finished surfaces shall be uniformly coated and free of runs, drips, sags, brush marks, or other defects. Such defects shall be corrected without change in Contract Price. E. Apply new stucco to areas around front and rear staircases, the exterior wall from rear entrance to south end of building, and patio area on east side of building. F. All paint shall be applied in strict accordance with the applicable manufacturer’s printed data sheet and container label outlining recommended minimum and maximum surface and air temperatures required for application. G. Protect adjacent surroundings against splash or overspray. Remove materials from surfaces not designated to receive such materials. H. The Contractor shall keep the site of the Work and adjacent premises as free from material, debris, and rubbish as is practicable, and shall remove same from any portion of the site, if, in the opinion of the Owner’s Representative, such material, debris, or rubbish constitutes a nuisance or is objectionable in any way to the public. The Contractor shall remove all machinery, materials, barricades, staging, false-work, debris, and rubbish connected with, or caused by said Work, immediately upon the completion of the same and shall clean all structures and Work constructed under this Contact to the satisfaction of the Owner’s Representative and leave the premises in an approved condition insofar as affected by the Work under this Contact. I. Each day before the Contract shuts down Work operations for the day, the Contractor shall clean all areas in/around/adjacent to the Work site of all dirt, mud, coating debris, waste rags, or other items deposited thereupon resulting from the Work. Storage and work areas shall be kept clean. J. Any other alteration or deviation to this specification must be approved by the Superintendent of Public Works.
