Purpose and Background 1.1. The purpose of this solicitation is to purchase Supplemental Workers' Compensation Independent Medical Exam Scheduling Services for usage by the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Risk Management Division. Services shall be provided to all Eligible Departments, Agencies, Boards and Commissions and all officers and employees of the State of Arizona (hereafter referred as the State), as well as Participating Members of the State Purchasing Cooperative (hereafter referred as Co-Op Buyer). 1.2. This contract shall be on a “as needed, if needed” basis. The State does not guarantee any amount of work during the term of the contract. 1.3. The State reserves the right to award multiple contracts to ensure that adequate services are available on a statewide basis to meet the needs of all State employees. Multiple award contracts shall be limited to the least number of suppliers necessary to meet the requirements of the state or the cooperative procurement members. 1.4. The State of Arizona consists of approximately 134 agencies with 77,000 employees. A majority of these employees are located in Maricopa and Pima Counties. The utilization of medical management services can help determine the appropriate treatment, and assist in efforts to return injured workers back to gainful employment. 1.5. The number of claims received by ADOA Risk Management varies from month-to-month, year-to-year. Risk Management receives approximately 3,300 new worker’s compensation claims each year. This number does not include incident only cases. On average, there are approximately 1,100 active claims not including supportive care or unscheduled cases
