1. Work with the City Administrator and Human Resources to review and/or update existing the job description. 2. Work with Human Resources to ensure the screening process complies with state and local civil service laws, rules, and regulations. 3. Coordinate the development of the position profiles, including the development of ideal candidate profiles and review of compensation scales. 4. Coordinate recruiting efforts for the position, including recruitment communications. This should include optimized communications strategies, such as networking and direct inquiries based upon the firm’s knowledge of candidates from other searches. 5. Assist the City Administrator in developing a first review/screening of the initial pool of applicants, in accordance with the minimum qualifications outlined in the job description. 6. Provide the City Administrator with summary reports on all semi-finalists. 7. Work with designated City Administration and Human Resources staff members to develop a comprehensive interview process; the development should include the preparation of any related site visit agendas, interview schedules, and other coordination as needed. 8. Work with the City Administrator to select finalists through appropriate interview processes. 9. Conduct in-depth interviews and detailed background investigations and verify references and credentials of finalists. Prepare a detailed report on each finalist. 10. If requested, provide services to facilitate the employment of selected candidate, including negotiations of offer. 11. Commit to a non-poaching clause for at least five years after successfully retaining candidate for the position.
