1. Routine mowing, weed cutting, edging and debris removal a. Frequencies shall not exceed the frequency indicated on Facilities property listing unless authorized by the City. *The city reserves the right to adjust mowing frequency based on weather conditions to preserve the health of turf. b. Facilities property turf shall be cut to a uniform height of approximately 3”. c. Routine mowing and debris removal is required at all sites identified as Facilities with the following exceptions: i. Mowing at City Hall will be on a weekly schedule regardless of the turf condition. ii. Please refer to frequency when mowing at the Water Pollution Control Plant site. There are 7-day and 30-day frequencies. d. Weed cutting is required weekly at all sites with the following exceptions: i. Weed cutting will be required three to four times per year at the Water Pollution Control Plant Lagoon; cutting shall include removal of sapling trees and shall be followed by a chemical application. e. Edging of all sidewalks and curbs shall be requested at the City’s discretion based on the condition of the turf and weather conditions. f. Vendor shall be responsible for debris clean up prior to mow/maintenance of sites along with the legal disposal of all debris cleared from the area. *Not permitted to use on-site dumpster. g. Mowing equipment shall have sharp cutting edges. h. Mower chutes required to be DOWN to eliminate rock and flying debris hazards. i. Mulching kits may be utilized on equipment to ensure clippings do not enter the street. j. Weed cutting and trimming shall be performed in concurrence with mowing services. k. Mowing shall include trimming of curb lines to eliminate weed and turf encroachment. l. Unsightly masses of clippings and weeds shall be removed from the site and legally disposed of at vendor’s expense. *No free dumping at City Compost facility. m. Mowing and weed cutting activities shall be performed in a manner which eliminates clippings from depositing on the street and all clippings deposited on the street shall be removed by vendor immediately. * Mowing into the street requiring street sweeper services will be charged back to the vendor and costs will be deducted from vendor invoicing. n. Care shall be taken to not disturb or impact the health of shrubs, tree rings and plant beds. o. Vendor shall notify City Project Manager of any turf health concerns discovered during the contract. p. Perform on demand services in preparation of special events. If awarded vendor is unable to timely perform additional services, vendors from other categories will be utilized. 2. Fertilizer applications shall be requested at the City’s discretion based on the condition of turf and weather conditions. a. Vendor shall submit price per 1,000 square foot to apply fertilizer. b. Vendor shall submit a copy of the specifications and MSDS for product proposed for use as fertilizer as requested. 3. Weed control applications, in the form of pre-emergent and/or post-emergent herbicide, shall be requested at the City’s discretion based on the condition of the turf and weather conditions. a. Vendor shall submit price per 1,000 square foot to apply pre-emergent herbicide. b. Vendor shall submit a copy of the specifications and MSDS for product proposed for use as pre- emergent herbicide as requested. 4. Weed control applications, in the form of broadleaf treatment, shall be requested at City’s discretion based on the condition of the turf and weather conditions. a. Vendor shall submit price per 1,000 square foot to apply broadleaf treatment. b. Vendor shall submit a copy of the specifications and MSDS for product proposed for use as broadleaf treatment as requested. 5. Pruning of shrubs shall be performed at the Water Pollution Control Plant located at 2606 South Concord Street. a. Pruning shall be performed no more than two (2) times per year and shall be performed once in the spring and once in the fall.
