General ● Crack filling and seal coating of asphalt parking lots playground and paths. ● Work includes cleaning of all asphalt surfaces to be sealed. ● Crack fill all cracks greater than ¼” in width. ● Seal Coat of asphalt Crack and joint cleaning and filling, Hot Pour ● Clean cracks or joints of existing joint filler material, backer rod, vegetation, dirt and other loose and foreign material. ● Clean joints or cracks by air blasting or by methods as necessary to remove debris. ● Ensure cracks and joints are dry prior to placement of filler material. ● Slightly overfill entire crack reservoir with filler material, smooth with a narrow V-shaped squeegee immediately after placement of the filler material. ● Crack filler shall be applied according to manufacturer’s instructions. Bituminous Seal Coat ● Immediately before seal coat is applied, clean entire surface to be treated as well as adjacent gutter, of all foreign materials including dust and weeds. ● Use suitable coverings to protect curb, sidewalk, intakes, valves and manholes from over spray of sealant. ● Remove and replace loose objects, ie: bike racks, trash cans during seal operation ● Seal coat shall be applied in 2 coats with the second coat applied perpendicular to the 1st coat, consistent black in appearance and coverage. ● Apply according to manufacturer’s instructions.
