It is the Village’s objective to update the 2012 Village of Hamburg Comprehensive Plan rather than start anew. As such, the Village seeks to contract with a consulting firm or team that possesses significant experience in community planning and redevelopment strategies. The consultant shall organize and lead the community consensus planning efforts through public workshops and meetings with community leaders to identify planning and redevelopment goals and objectives. This Plan update will incorporate all of the accomplishments of the Village over the last twelve years, analyze approaches, and move forward with goals and objectives for the next decade. The Village has authorized a budget of $55,000 for this project, with funding support from the Erie County Office of Planning and Community Development. There may be an opportunity for an additional amount of $10,000 allocated from the Village budget if those additional funds will significantly contribute to the process of executing the Comprehensive Plan. There are many invested individuals and groups within the Village that help bring the implementation goals within the Comprehensive Plan to life. Consequently, the 2012 Plan has served the Village well, and many of the implementation goals within that document have been met. The purpose of this update will be to reassess the bulk of the 2012 plan, bring it up to date with the completed implementation goals, and then establish an updated set of both short- and long-term prioritized action items that will guide the Village in the decade to come.
