Provide a comprehensive, researchbased, and standards-aligned curriculum for English learners who are newcomers in grades K-5. The selected curriculum will be implemented during the 2025-2026 school year, covering: ● Elementary School: K-5 Newcomer ELD Groups The selected vendor must ensure: 1. Alignment to Standards ● Must align with 2020 WIDA English Language Development (ELD) Standards. ● Support integration with Kentucky Academic Standards for ELA and other subjects. ● Provide clear language development progressions across proficiency levels. 2. Research-Based and Evidence-Validated ● Must be grounded in second language acquisition research. ● Include structured, scaffolded instruction for various language proficiency levels. ● Provide research-based strategies, such as comprehensible input, sheltered instruction, and academic discourse. 3. Comprehensive Content ● Must include engaging, grade-appropriate texts (literary, informational, multicultural). ● Provide a balance of listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities. ● Offer interactive, hands-on, and technology-supported learning resources. ● Include formative and summative assessments with rubrics and performance tasks. 4. Culturally Relevant and Bias-Free ● Must incorporate diverse linguistic and cultural perspectives. ● Ensure representation of varied backgrounds, experiences, and identities. ● Avoid cultural stereotypes and provide equitable access to learning.
