This Project is for construction of a new Festus Police Department Gun Range (Range). The Project Site is located within City owned property at 2300 Sunshine Drive, Festus, Missouri. Design and Construction of the Range will provide a P.O.S.T. accredited, 10-lane, shooting range. The scope of the project will consist of: • Clearing and removal of trees and underbrush in preparation of the range location. • Leveling an area approximately 75 feet by 200 feet for the shooting area. • Installation of gravel/rock base in the shooting area. • Design and construction of an earthen berm 15 feet high by 60 feet wide at the front of the leveled area. • Design and construction of two wing berms on each side of the main berm at an approximate 45-degree angle 15 feet long tapering down from 15 feet to 10 feet in height. • Seed and straw the berm. • Dirt for the building of the berm should be able to be obtained from other areas of the property where the range is being built, as long as no ponding areas are developed.
