The Project scope includes, but is not limited to, the construction of a new substation platform that will be elevated on precast concrete girders to protect equipment against a 500-year flood event, raising of the existing access road, construction of a retaining wall, and installation of new transmission and signal power wires. The Project will also decommission and remove the old substation equipment. Due to the location of the project site, temporary access roads are anticipated throughout construction. The Project consists of, but is not limited to, the following construction elements: 1. Construction of an elevated access road including a load distribution platform and retaining wall; 2. Construction of a new elevated substation on precast concrete girders, a prefabricated control house, all traction power equipment, steel gantries and all bonding and grounding; 3. Substation rail return to Right of Way (ROW); 4. Commissioning of the substation equipment; and 5. Removal of existing transmission structures and existing substation equipment.
