3. Scope of Work The proposed scope of work for the mass transit open loop payment system includes, but is not limited to: • Integration of contactless payment technology across buses, light rail, and subway systems. • Acceptance of “Cash App” Visa debit cards as well as Visa and Mastercard credit cards • Implementation of a system where the MTA does not directly enter into a banking relationship (e.g., the vendor acts as the merchant of record). • Ensuring compliance with relevant payment industry standards and regulations. • Providing a secure and reliable payment processing infrastructure that will process transactions in milliseconds both online and offline to minimize boarding times. • The ability to interface the open loop payment system with the MTA’s existing Genfare's GenLink back-office solution. • Providing fare capping. • Preferably, the ability to integrate the open loop payment card reader within the MTA’s existing Genfare's Fast Fare farebox to avoid the need for external validators. • Ensuring compatibility of the card readers with light rail platform validators and subway faregates from a variety of manufacturers. • Offering customer support and maintenance services
