A. Advice and representation in cooperation with the entities named herein. B. Investigation, legal research, drafting pleadings and legal memoranda, and formal representation of the District in administrative hearings and federal, state, and tribal court. C. Legal advice and representation of the District in litigation on an as-required basis on any or all matters. The legal services may include but are not limited to: 1. Construction Disputes 2. Employee Discipline and Termination 3. Employment Contracts 4. Employment Law – Federal, State, and Tribal 5. Federal Programs, including Title I and Impact aide. 6. First Amendment and Other Civil Rights Claims 7. Governing Board Authority and Liability 8. Governing Board Policies and Procedure 9. Intergovernmental Agreements 10. Open Meeting Laws 11. Navajo Trible Compliance and Issues 12. Payroll Issues 13. Special Education and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act 14. Student Discipline and Expulsion 15. Workers’ Compensation D. Other required services include all clerical assistance, printing, and duplicating. District personnel will be made available, when appropriate, to provide necessary assistance, such as research of historical records or other information needed to perform comprehensive legal services for SPS. E. Regular accounting and billing for services and expenses shall be required. F. The organization must agree not to engage in private litigation against SPS without first obtaining written permission to do so from the Governing Board during the effective period of the agreement.
