The purpose of this project is to provide engineering services in order to correct the roadway deficiencies that are the result of aging pavement and concrete. The existing road was constructed over 20 years ago and has excessive deterioration including alligator cracking, linear cracking, uneven surfacing, and pot holes. The catch basin tops are deteriorating as well with cracking and chipping away of the concrete. The proposed project will require new catch basin tops and bituminous curb replacement, and pavement rehabilitation of Twin Lakes Road beginning at the intersection at RT. 80 and extending approximately 6,900 linear feet (1.3 miles) to Queach Road. It is anticipated that the proposed work will include full depth pavement reconstruction consisting of 1.5" HMA S0.375 over 3.0" HMA S0.5 over 12" processed aggregate base. The project intent is to rehabilitate the existing pavement. Based on GIS parcel information and aerial imagery, the existing roadway appears to encroach on private properties at 2, 8, and 20 Twin Lakes Road. These parcel lines will be delineated accurately during design to identify if easements already exist or may be required.
