2.1.1 Donated DevicesImplement a strategy for acquiring donated devices from local and national organizationsthat can be used as a supply of Devices for the Digital Device Ecosystem. Device stock willbe warehoused and maintained securely throughout the life of the contract. Describe previousrelationship-building successes in obtaining the necessary material to allow a refurbishmentsystem to work. Further, describe your plan for warehousing and maintaining security ondevice stock.2.1.2 Acceptable Devices, Technical Support, and Cost Structure2.1.2.1Devices will be large screen devices (laptops, Chromebooks, and/or tablets)refurbished to a like-new operational condition authorized by technicians or manufacturers.Describe the age and quality/expected lifespan of the devices. Specify what a refurbisheddevice or computer is and how they are tested to ensure they meet quality standards beforebeing made available for reuse.2.1.2.2Devices will be offered with at least baseline software installations that provideimmediate functionality to the consumer. Describe any baseline software installations thatwill be included on the Device.2.1.2.3Devices will be refurbished to standards and controls including a commitment to accreditede-waste vendors/recyclers and standards for data sanitation and security. These standards will befollowed by the successful Respondent to ensure donated devices are wiped clean to protect datafrom the donating organization. Describe refurbishment standards and controls, including acommitment to accredited e-waste vendors/recyclers and standards for data sanitation and security, tobe followed by the entity to ensure donated devices are wiped clean to protect data from the donatingorganization.2.1.2.4The successful Respondent will offer troubleshooting and technical support for individualswho receive a device including a staffed phone line providing support. Describe a plan to providetroubleshooting and technical support for individuals who receive a device.2.1.2.5The successful Respondent will be responsible for implementing a cost structure to chargerecipients for devices. Examples of potential cost structures may include but not limited to freedevice giveaways, tiered payment structures based on eligibility, and/or tiered payment structuresbased on quality of device(s). Describe the planned cost structure of devices charged to recipients.Include estimates of devices distributed in each identified category during the contract (at least75,000 devices)
