The City expects to achieve the following outcomes through this consultant solicitation: Design and implement infrastructure improvements to create a safe and accessible environment for pedestrians, cyclists, and other mobility users traveling to the Pinehurst Station (formerly the NE 130th St light rail station) and surrounding neighborhood. Reduce the occurrence of serious injuries and fatal crashes through safety-focused design elements. Enhance bus reliability, improve the passenger experience, and upgrade pavement quality to support the introduction of King County Metro’s new bus service. Engage a qualified consultant project team to deliver comprehensive engineering services from early design stages through project advertisement. Select a consultant team with extensive experience in designing, managing, and coordinating large, multi-disciplinary corridor projects. Select a consultant team that has experience in constructability reviews and developing construction sequencing plans for corridor projects. Include specialists in public engagement to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the project. Coordinate closely with Seattle Public Utilities, Seattle City Light, Seattle Public Utilities, and King County to address utility considerations in project design and implementation. Secure a project manager and consultant team with a proven track record of delivering corridor, transit, or federally funded projects on time and within budget.
