The Town will accept bid proposals for Hydrex 3769 as provided by Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies or an approved equivalent product. The product must meet or exceed the Hydrex 3769 products performance. If bidding an alternate product, the vendor shall indicate on the proposal, and shall provide, upon request, a product sample of at least 55 gallons for pilot testing which will be performed prior to award. The town will pay vendor for the sample product. It will be the responsibility of the Water & Sewer Department staff to determine if an alternate product is considered equal to the Hydrex product specified. Product shall be free of lumps/clumps and mixed thoroughly. The product shall not cause visible white clumps in the final process and be easily dispersed to perform its intended purpose. Any alternate product that the Town may consider to be an equal to the Hydrex 3769 product, must not contain any contaminants. Product Specifications for Hydrex 3769: Physical Form: White emulsion. Density: 0.98 – 1.08 g/ml. Odor: Slight petroleum. Boiling Point: Greater than 100oC (212o. Product pH: 6.0 – 7.5 in a 0.5% aqueous solution. Viscosity: 500 – 1800 cps. Shelf Life: 6 months if stored in temperatures above 5oC and below 35oC.
