The Office of Youth Services (OYS) seeks proposals from qualified entities to provide mandated professional dental services for youth under the care and custody of the STATE at the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility (HYCF). HYCF is the only institution statewide for the care and incarceration of juvenile offenders located in Kailua, Oahu. The HYCF is responsible for the health care and well-being of these youths, whom are aged from 13-18 years old, averaging approximately 25 youth daily. The goal of the proposed professional dental services is to provide and maintain healthy dental hygiene and preventive dental care, reduce the need for dental treatment, like fillings and extractions, avoid toothaches, bleeding gums, or infected teeth, maintain the look and well-being of youth dental care, prevent tooth decay and gum diseases.
