The purpose of this RFP is to choose a master developer for a transformational project in downtown Olathe. This project would envision a master developer to: • Develop mixed-use developments on the site (office/housing/multi-family/possibly hotel) with the possibilities of first floor retail establishments fronting the street network, • Include in the project a facility incorporating Chestnut Street as Olathe’s Downtown Farmer’s Market which would operate free of charge on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, • Include “third place” opportunities for the community, and • Replace the current parking infrastructure (100 spaces) operated by the City west of Chestnut Street, plus add additional parking that may be required for the project.
