5.1. Scope of work A. The Contractor shall fill the totes on an as needed basis or will schedule the sites on a regular fill-up delivery to be coordinated with the County Project Manager. B. The County uses approximately 2,935 gallons of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) monthly. This number is an estimate only and in no way represents a guarantee of future expenditures. 5.2. Technical Specifications A. The DEF shall be AUS 32 (Aqueous Urea Solution 32.5%) designed specifically for use in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems to reduce emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) from diesel engines. B. DEF shall be produced to ISO 22241 standard. C. DEF shall meet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Diesel Emission Standards. D. The product shall be safe to handle, non-explosive, non-flammable, non-toxic, non-polluting, stable, colorless, biodegradable and composed of urea and water. E. DEF shall have a minimum shelf life of twelve (12) months from the time of delivery. F. Contractor shall include, with their submission, product specification sheets for the proposed DEF and delivery systems. 5.3. Environmental Protection Contractor shall be responsible for, and bear the cost of, any environmental damages and cleanup required from spillage caused either by Contractor overfilling the tank or equipment failure causing discharge. Should it be necessary for the County to use its own labor and materials for emergency cleanup, the Contractor shall reimburse the County for all cost of resulting labor and materials cleanup. The Contractor shall be responsible for pick up, removal, and disposal of any absorbent materials used for the cleanup. Contractor shall replace any lost inventory as a result of leakage or spillage related to faulty delivery (i.e. coupler, hose, pumps, overfilling, etc).
