1.2.1. Crane Repositioning a. Repositioning/Realignment of (4) ZPMC STS Cranes #1, #2, #3, and #4 at the Norfolk International Terminals (NIT). 1.2.2.1. The Contractor shall be responsible for performing calculations checking the pier and yard at VPA for the loads associated with the transport of the cranes. a. These calculations, along with supporting documentation, shall be signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer registered in a US jurisdiction and submitted to Virginia Port Authority (VPA) for review and approval. b. The Contractor’s Engineer shall take the lead in communicating with the VPA. 1.2.2.2. The Contractor shall provide additional information in their submittal to the VPA as follows: a. SPMT (or similar equipment) • Number of axle lines each side (Waterside and Landside) • Equipment weight per axle of SPMT • Arrangement of SPMT’s • Weight and number of power packs b. Carrier Beams • Arrangement of carrier beams (To identify lift points on crane) • Weight of carrier beam • All hardware (itemized weights of additional hardware/equipment required such as cribbing) associated with transporting crane. c. Drawings • Arrangement drawings of the SPMT’s, carrier beams, and STS Crane • Drawings providing travel path from start to finish.
