The Town of Gilbert is soliciting proposals for residential and commercial water meters with Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Systems in an effort to improve the process of collecting water meter reading data. This is in effort to reach the Towns goals of enhancing service for customers, improving operations and efficiencies for the town of gilbert, and ensuring adaptability in an evolving technology environment. Each of these goals is described in more detail below. This is a Federally funded procurement. The Goal of the Town of Gilbert is to provide the most economical and reliable service possible for water customers. Town of Gilbert expects the proposed Water Meters will serve as a vital tool for achieving this vision while moving forward with other business process improvements. The water meters are expected to have the capability of having an information technology which will: 1. Enhance service for customers. This includes (but is not limited to) billing ease and accuracy, and quicker response to customer needs and inquiries. 2. Improved operations and efficiencies for the Town of Gilbert. This includes (but is not limited to) accurate and timely data collection, software compatibility with existing systems, reliable notifications for adverse events (e.g., leaks, tampering, theft). Local support that will provide timely deliveries and quick emergency response and provide opportunities for cost reductions. 3. Adaptability in an evolving technology environment. This includes (but is not limited to) the ability to communicate with and upgrade devices easily (i.e., without changing hardware) and mitigating the risk that fixed components become obsolete over time. 4. Reading software must be compatible with Tyler billing systems and Advanced Utility Systems (i.e., CIS Infinity, Eden and Munis)
