The City of Iowa City has dedicated $77,000 to aid low income renters in securing housing in the corporate limits of Iowa City. The funds shall be used for security deposits for low income renters in need. This Security Deposit Program shall be administered by a local organization or organizations. The successful Community Development Organization(s) shall be responsible for: 1. Writing, and developing the program. 2. Providing reporting and invoicing as requested by the City. 3. Dispersing the funds in accordance with the rules established within the approved plan. 4. Providing all staffing to administer the plan. 5. Properly documenting all administrative costs, security deposit disbursements, income verifications, recipient information, number of beneficiaries, number of applications, race/ethnicity, disability status, and any statistical or other information that may be required by the City. 6. Allowing the City of Iowa City site visits to the Community Service Organizations facilities in order to perform monitoring of the program.
