The project includes permanently ‘capping' an area of contaminated soil with clean fill and asphalt. The ‘cap’ consists of the construction of a parking lot with a precast concrete boat ramp. This project aims to remediate a currently unusable contaminated area and construct a public park in a future phase. Work involves dredging material from existing ponds, drying and property disposing of the material, clearing and grubbing, grading, drainage, signage, striping and related erosion control activities. Grading work for the cap will involve hauling material from off-site as well as using on-site material. This project consists of dredging approximately 1,126 cubic yards of impacted sediment located in two sediment removal zones. The top 1-foot of sediment should be removed from the entire footprint.
