The County of Riverside Purchasing and Fleet Services Department is seeking competitive proposals from qualified towing companies to provide towing and secure storage services for the County of Riverside. The County of Riverside is the 4 th largest county in California with a population of approximately 2.4million and encompasses approximately 7303 square miles of land and water. Specific zones or areas are outlined on maps included in this RFQ. The use of County fleet vehicles enables county business to be carried out in accordance with county-wide principles and standards. For the purposes of protecting the general welfare and the public interests of the community, it is the County’s policy to provide, equip and maintain essential, safe, and presentable transportation equipment for the use of county officers, county employee, and authorized drivers. However, county vehicles may become disabled due to collision, accident, dead battery, flat tires, key lock outs, mechanical failure or wear and tear. These potential vehicle issues require 24-hour service availability from reliable resources. Some Departments may also have the need for heavy wrecker towing (or flatbed) and recovery such as Fire Engines or heavy industrial equipment.
