The awarded contractor will be responsible for: 3.1 Collection Services Organizing HHW collection events in designated areas within the CTCOG region. Providing permanent collection site services where applicable. Accepting and handling a wide range of hazardous waste materials, including paints, chemicals, batteries, pesticides, and electronic waste. 3.2 Transportation & Disposal Safely transporting HHW from collection sites to approved disposal facilities. Ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations (DOT, EPA, TCEQ). Properly treating, recycling, or disposing of HHW materials. 3.3 Public Education & Outreach Assisting in public awareness campaigns regarding HHW disposal and safety. Providing educational materials and guidance to residents on proper waste management practices. 3.4 Compliance & Reporting Maintaining compliance with all applicable environmental and hazardous waste laws. Providing regular reports on collection volumes, waste types, and disposal methods. Ensuring all employees handling hazardous waste are properly trained and certified.
