The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) is currently seeking one (1) contractworker for the Marine Fisheries Finfish Bureau.The MDMR manages all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands, and waterfront areasto provide for the balanced commercial, recreational, educational, and economic uses of theseresources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.Scope of Work/Job DutiesThe contract worker will assist in gathering pertinent information on the recreational sectorthrough survey activities conducted across public access fishing sites in Mississippi. These surveysare distributed throughout the week with most occurring on weekends (Friday-Sunday).Additional duties include but are not limited to: processing fish samples brought into the MDMRlaboratory (i.e. fish weight, length, remove otoliths and other samples as required); assisting infield work needed for biological assessments; operating fisheries vessels; and performing otherduties as assigned by the supervisor and/or Office or Bureau Director.
