A. Equipment Requirements Vending machines shall meet the following requirements but not be limited to: 1. Must be new or “like-new”, defined as less than three (3) years old or fully refurbished prior to installation. 2. Must not exceed three (3) years in service without prior approval from the County Contract Manager (CCM). 3. Remains property of the Contractor. 4. Shall not operate in a "force vend" mode and must be programmed to return customer funds or credit cashless payments when a selection is unavailable. 5. Must comply with Federal, State, and County Codes including Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) labeling requirements. 6. Shall be equipped for debit/credit card and other cashless payments upon installation. 7. Accept coins and currency, including five (5) dollar bills. B. Equipment Service & Maintenance The Contractor shall provide the following requirements but not be limited to: 1. Hold the County harmless from any loss or damage resulting from utility failures. 2. Vending machines must be well-maintained and in proper working order at all times. 3. Shall respond to service calls within four (4) hours and complete necessary repairs within 48 hours. 4. Response time for service calls applies to any service call between normal operating hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. 5. Replacement of non-functional machines must be addressed within three (3) business days of notification. 6. Machines requiring more than three (3) repairs in a one (1) month period, must be replaced within three (3) business days. 7. Propose a policy outlining procedures for promptly handling emergency maintenance and repair services for nights, weekends, and holidays. 8. Provide an emergency contact list including direct cell phone numbers of the responsible personnel to be contacted in the event of an emergency during nonnormal operating hours. 9. Vending machines and equipment must be kept clean, sanitary, neat and in orderly condition, inside and out. C. Placement of Vending Machines 1. The CCM will authorize the placement of vending machines in strategic locations throughout the County where traffic patterns and/or other circumstances warrant their placement. 2. The Contractor may suggest relocation or additional placements, subject to approval from the CCM. 3. Vending machines shall not in any way obstruct or otherwise interfere with emergency exits or access as determined by the Fire Marshall.
