The purpose of this solicitation is to pick up litter along US 50 Ocean Gateway in Talbot County. 2.2.1 Project Goals The Maryland State Highway Administration Easton Shop is accepting bids for Roadside Tractor Mowing in Talbot County as detailed in the specific location detail below. The contract manager will be Malcolm Faust Jr. or designee Andrew Wenzinger. They may be contacted at telephone number 410-822-3525. 2.2.2 This contract consists of roadside tractor mowing in Talbot County specifically MD33, MD370, MD329, MD579, both directions of each road including shoulders of roadway up to and including both sides of ditch line on MDOT SHA right of way-maintained areas. The work will be bid per cycle. Work activities include mowing grass by use of tractor mower equipped with flail mower. 2.2.3 State Staff and Roles A. SHA shall provide the contractor with a tentative schedule with a tentative schedule of the cycle cuts upon contract award. B. SHA shall provide contractor with 7 days’ notice for work to begin. C. SHA shall remove animal carcasses 2.3 Contractor Responsibilities and Tasks 2.3.1 Minimum 2 full size tractor mowers each equipped with flail attachments with a minimum one-pass cutting width of 10 feet. Any non-flail attachment like a rotary blade is not acceptable. 2.3.2 Minimum Labor responsibility: Two tractor mower operators plus one foreman, who maintains traffic control devices per MUTCD guidelines for mowing operations and provides SHA with tracking of daily cutting acreage. 2.3.3 Finished grass height 3 ½ inches per SHA mowing guidelines.
