a. Four (4) Outdoor warning sirens The Village is seeking proposals for both omni-directional and rotating sirens at four sites. Proposals should provide for the removal of the existing equipment, reuse of the existing pole and ComEd infrastructure. b. Control System Activation by VHF radio from existing equipment at the Glenview Public Safety Dispatch center and a secondary backup transmitter at the Village of Glencoe Public Safety facility. Provide optional pricing of activation by cellular connectivity. c. Provide an encoder for VHF transmission at the Village of Glencoe Public Safety facility compatible with an existing Motorola CDM-1250 or XPR-4550 radio. d. Each siren must run on an automatic battery backup system capable of a minimum 24-hour standby and 15-minute full power. The backup battery system must be pole mounted. Replacement batteries must be readily available at local retail sales establishments. e. Complete installation of the proposed system. f. Must comply with all applicable government regulatory specifications such as FEMA and OSHA. g. Expedient and reliable parts and service. h. The completed siren system shall comply with State and Federal standards for outdoor warning systems. i. The completed siren system shall meet the general criteria outlined in “Outdoor Warning Systems” (Technical Bulletin Version 2.0, January 12, 2006) by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for pole-mounted sirens. j. Control units shall consist of enclosures suitable for outdoor installation. Enclosures housing electronic equipment shall comply with NEMA type enclosures. All enclosures shall have the provision for locking.
