Scope 1 – Moving Services: Contractors will be responsible for two phases of moves, one at the beginning of the summer to make way for construction, and one at the end of summer to prepare the schools for the return of students and teachers. In May, contractors will be responsible for the preparation, transportation, and relocation of all equipment, furniture, files, and other miscellaneous office or classroom content as specified by Downers Grove District 58. These moves may be within the building to designated new-use locations, interior storage, or to exterior storage containers. In August, contractors will be responsible for returning all equipment, furniture, files, and other miscellaneous office or classroom content to its appropriate location. The District will require assistance sourcing moving boxes and tape in advance of this move for packing by their own staff (see schedule above for packing material drop-off date). Contractors must possess the appropriate expertise to orderly and efficiently relocate facilities and all related equipment, furniture, and content in a short turnover period prior to beginning construction and again prior to the beginning of the school year (see schedule for more details). Office and Classroom equipment is inclusive of, but not limited to, the following types of items: • Free Standing Furniture (teachers’ desks, student desks, task chairs, student chairs, bookshelves, etc.) • Office and Classroom Contents (boxed) • File and Storage Cabinets • May be required to move loaded file cabinets • Library Books (via book carts), classroom books (boxed) • Office equipment • Gymnasium equipment • Storage contents – archival files, facilities tools and equipment
