2. PROJECT OVERVIEW 2.1. The Nevada Division of State Parks is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide on-call electrical services as described below and in the scope of work and attachments. 2.2. The State intends to award one contract in conjunction with this request for proposals (RFP), as determined in the best interests of the State. The Nevada Division of State Parks shall administer contract(s) resulting from this solicitation. The resulting contract(s) are expected to be for a contract term of three years, subject to Board of Examiners approval. 2.3. Contracting agency background 2.3.1. The Nevada Division of State Parks was founded when, during the 1963 session of the Nevada Legislature, a bill was passed to form a new state park agency within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). From that time forward the park administrator has been appointed by, and reports to, the DCNR Director. Today the Division manages and maintains 27 parks within the Nevada State Parks system. The Division is headquartered in Carson City and there are currently four management regions statewide: the Tahoe Region, the Western Region, Eastern Region and the Southern Region. 2.4. Goals and objectives 2.4.1. To manage, protect, operate and maintain existing and future units of the Nevada State Park system. 2.4.2. To acquire, plan for and develop a well-balanced system of areas of outstanding scenic, recreational, scientific and historical importance. 2.4.3. To interpret and provide education on the natural, cultural and recreational resources found within the State Park system. 2.4.4. To provide recreational and cultural destinations that are of economic benefit to nearby communities. 3. SCOPE OF WORK 3.1.1. The Nevada Division of State Parks is requesting bids for a three-year contract to provide on-call electrical services to South Fork State Recreation Area and Wildhorse State Recreation Area.
