The District is requesting proposals from qualified firms of certified public accountants to audit the District’s basic financial statements for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025, with the option to audit the District’s basic financial statements for each of the four subsequent fiscal years pending the satisfactory completion of the previous year’s audit. The District reserves the right to terminate or not extend the agreement. The District’s policy for external auditor rotation limits the term for the District’s external auditor to a maximum period of five years. Such a multi-year agreement can take the form of a series of no more than five single-year agreements that require Board approval. At the completion of the five-year agreement, a new external auditor must be selected for the subsequent multi-year audit agreement. This policy of rotation will also apply to the subcontracted MBE/WBE firm signing the Single Audit opinion letter. The District desires the selected firm (referenced previously on page 3 as Proposer and herein as Auditor) to express an opinion on the fair presentation of the financial statements of the governmental activities, each major fund, and the aggregate remaining fund information of the District in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.
