C.1. Extractors and Commercial Washer/Dryers, Installation, Parts, and Service for Tucson Fire Department The selected vendor shall furnish, deliver, install, and provide ongoing maintenance for extractors and commercial stackable/side-by-side washer/dryer units at designated Tucson Fire Department locations. C.2. Extractor Specifications A. The vendor shall provide and install commercial-grade hardmount washer extractors that must meet or exceed the following minimum technical specifications: 1. General Extractor Requirements a. Dry Weight Capacity: 40-lb minimum, 45-lb preferred, with the ability to wash 6–8 pieces of turnout gear. b. Controls: i. Customizable controls capable of meeting NFPA 1851 standards. ii. G-force not to exceed 100 G’s. iii. Maximum water temperature of 105°F (40°C) for firefighter turnout gear. iv. Programmable to launder uniforms, towels, and station bed covers (sheets). v. Two or more wash speeds and extractor speeds. 2. Electrical Requirements a. Washer extractors at 110V. b. Washer extractors at 200-240V/60Hz/1-3 Phase (site-specific needs). 3. Warranty a. Minimum five (5) years for purchase or included in a service contract or rental program. b. Warranty must include parts, labor, travel costs, and a guaranteed repair time of no more than five business days. 4. Drainage a. Capable of delayed drainage or equipped with a trough if necessary to accommodate existing drainage at each site. b. Preferred 3-inch drain line with two or more water inlets. 5. Installation a. Delivery to each location and installation on a steel base if needed. b. Anchor and grout installation to industry standards. c. Removal and proper disposal of old units (if applicable) d. Secure in place, ensuring proper water, drainage, and electrical connections. e. Address site-specific drainage needs for older fire stations as required. f. Inspection by a local manufacturer’s representative prior to startup and operation. g. Vendor must conduct operational testing and commissioning of all installed equipment to ensure compliance with performance specifications, including loading, cycle operation, and water extraction efficiency. 6. Chemical Dispensing System a. Capable of dispensing dry and liquid cleaners as specified in NFPA 1851. b. Four-compartment dry chemical dispensing system. c. Automatic flushing and connections for five (5) external supply lines and control signals for four (4) external supplies. 7. Training: Provide a minimum of two (2) training sessions for operational staff, including comprehensive documentation (user manuals, troubleshooting guides) and follow-up technical support during the first six (6) months after installation.
