The following services will need to be provided: • Must specialize in equine care. • All veterinary services, apart from surgical procedures with anesthesia, must be provided on site at the Mounted Division barn in the area of E. 7 Mile and Woodward. • Must be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for emergency service response. o Response time must be within two (2) hours. o May have associate Doctor of Veterinary Medicine available when primary doctor is not. • Provide preventive care such as administering vaccines, wellness exams, blood work, lab workups, physical exams, and fecal exams and analysis according to accepted equine medical standards. • Provide annual Coggins testing. • Provide dental floating/extractions and care according to accepted equine medical standards. • Provide prescription medication (as needed). • Provide over-the-counter medications (as needed). • Provide advanced wound care (as needed). • Minor surgical procedures not requiring anesthesia. • Surgical procedures (to be completed at MSU Veterinary Medical Center or equivalent) • Provide radiographic examinations • Consultation and vetting on current and/or prospective horses for soundness evaluations • Euthanasia, in emergency circumstance
