A. In general, and without limitation, furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals associated with the construction of new storm drainage pipe and structures, culvert structural rehabilitation, culvert daylighting/stream creation, construction and rehabilitation of Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs), roadway, sidewalk and curbing improvements within the R.O.W., associated utility support and new sewer service, and appurtenant work as indicated on the Drawings and specified herein. B. The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following major items: 1. Obtain permits as required under Section 01060 – “Permits and Regulatory Requirements.” 2. At Lenz Street, remove trees as shown on the Drawings to furnish and install approximately 150 linear feet of HDPE drainage pipe 12-inch in diameter, 46 linear feet of HDPE drainage pipe 24-inch in diameter with associated manholes, catch basins and appurtenances within roadway and property easements, retaining walls and plantings as shown on the Drawings. 3. At Elm Street, furnish and install approximately 220 linear feet of Class V RCP drainage pipe 36-inch diameter, 121 linear feet of HDPE drainage pipe 12-inch in diameter with associated manholes, catch basins and appurtenances within roadway and property easements, utilities support and dewatering materials as shown on the Drawings. 4. At Portsmouth Avenue, furnish and install cast-in-place concrete culvert roof panel patches, remove and dispose of drop in catch basins, install 24 linear feet of HDPE drainage pipe 12-inch in diameter with associated manholes, catch basins, drain scuppers and appurtenances within roadway and culvert trash rack as shown on the Drawings. 5. At the Bridge Street Extension Maintenance Facility, construct 385 linear feet of daylighted stream including handling existing drainage, stormwater, and stream flows by bypass system, associated plantings and stream bed material, construct driveway and drainage improvements to include 270 linear feet of HDPE drainage pipe ranging in size from 12-inch to 48-inch in diameter, associated manholes, catch basins, proprietary treatment units and appurtenances, and remove/abandon existing drainage pipes on City property as shown on the Drawings. 6. At Memorial High School, construct a Stormwater Control Measure (SCM), associated drainage piping, upgradient drainage collection structures, outlet control structure, emergency bypass spillway, fencing, curbing, sidewalk, and tree planting on City property as shown on the Drawings. 7. At Manchester School of Technology, construct a Stormwater Control Measure (SCM), associated drainage piping, inlet structure, outlet control structure, emergency bypass spillway, and stormwater outfall on City property as shown on the Drawings. 8. At Bradley Street Nutt Pond SCM, install large diameter stone filled gabions to repair the existing spillway, remove gravel wetland surface sediment and planting materials and replant the gravel wetland on City property and property easements as shown on the Drawings. 9. At Cohas and Old Cohas Avenues, furnish and install approximately 578 linear feet of RCP drainage pipe ranging in size from 12-inch to 36-inch in diameter and associated manholes, catch basins, sidewalk and pavement replacement, drainage pipe removal and appurtenances within roadway and property easements as shown on the Drawings. 10. Excavating, filling, backfilling, compacting, and grading for drainpipe installation, catch basin and manhole installation, sewer service installation, and pavement, sidewalk, and curbing construction. Restore pavement surfaces, sidewalks, curbing, utilities, retaining walls, granite walls, shrubbery, grass, posts, signs, etc. disturbed by Contractor’s activities. Shore or guy any utility poles as required by utility company. 11. Dispose of excess material from excavation including rock removal not required for fill or backfill at the expense of the Contractor, to the satisfaction of the Owner and in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations. 12. Provide documentation to the Owner of transportation and disposal of all soils removed from the project. 13. Furnish, install and maintain sedimentation and erosion control measures during construction. 14. Develop traffic management plans and maintain traffic control at all times. C. The work shall also conform to such additional drawings and addenda to these Specifications and Drawings as may be published or exhibited prior to the opening of bid proposals and to such drawings in explanation of details, or as may be furnished by the Engineer from time to time during the construction. D. Work and materials which are necessary in the construction but which are not specifically referred to in the Specification, or shown on the Drawings, but implied by the Contract shall be furnished by the Contractor at the Contractor’s own cost and expense and shall be such as will correspond with the general character of the work as may be determined by the Engineer, whose decisions as to the necessity for and character of such work and materials shall be final and conclusive. It is the intent of these Specifications to produce a complete, operational and finished project whether shown in every detail or not.
