Mesa has included in preceding RFPs those energy products which have historically best conformed to Mesa’s supply needs given historical market conditions. Recognizing the ever-changing energy market landscape amid tightening capacity in the WECC and DSW, Mesa is requesting that Suppliers submit offers for power generation resources that provide greater than 2,000 MWh per year up to a maximum of 350,000 MWh per year. Mesa is requesting terms in length from four (4) months (which is to say June – September 2025) through long term resources (twenty (20)+ years). Mesa is requesting strictly commercially proven technologies that may include, but are not limited to: Unit-specific conventional power products; this may include: Specific output (in MWh per year) from an existing plant or a proposed plant A percentage output of an existing plant or a proposed plant Existing or proposed renewable energy projects Including solar, wind, bio-mass, and other renewable energy sources Existing or proposed energy storage projects (grid-charged or local resource charged or a combination of the two) “Block” type energy products (WSPP Schedule B, Schedule C, or similar) Local, smaller scale generating projects (renewable or conventional) that may be directly connected to Mesa’s electric distribution system (whether at the secondary voltage level, the 12 kV level or the 69 kV level, subject to line and capacity studies). Mesa will not provide real estate for any such projects. Including natural gas and hydrogen fired energy generation Demand side management energy resources or demand response energy resources Other commercially proven energy resources not contemplated in this RFP
