The Hillsborough County Department of Corrections is soliciting quotations from responsible bidders to provide one (1) fully trained single purpose Narcotics Detection Canine to include handler training. a. Breed – Labrador Retriever b. Age- Between 16 to 36 months. c. The Canine must have received basic obedience training while on-leash, which includes, at a minimum, the following commands: i. Sit ii. Down iii. Stay iv. heal d. The Canine must not be handler aggressive. e. The Canine must be capable of operating in a variety of environments and comfortable in all environmental variables within a jail setting. f. The Canine must be fully trained and certified in detection and odor recognition of, at a minimum: i. Marijuana ii. Cocaine iii. Heroin iv. Methamphetamine g. The Canine must demonstrate a final response upon detection.
