Contractor may seek grants and partnerships to reduce project costs to the DNR for applicable project types. As grants are received, amounts for corresponding tasks in this contract may be reduced to the DNR by amendment from standard Contractor rates. Contractor will pursue grants only with DNR approval prior to grant submission. : Provide up to 76 weeks of up to 5-person field crew time (15,200 person-hours) in a schedule established annually, based on funding available to the DNR. Crew shall be trained in chainsaw operation/safety, invasive species identification and eradication, trail building, and first aid. Crews must arrive at agreed-upon dates, capable of diverse work, including sign installation, manual labor, skilled chainsaw work, landscaping, restoration planting, prairie or woodland prescribed fires, and operating small equipment such as brush hogs and walk-behind skid steers. The Contractor shall supervise the crews yet be responsive to DNR project manager(s). Crews shall arrive at project sites with a minimum of a half-ton 4-wheel-drive pick-up truck and sufficient tools (chainsaws, loppers, PPE, shovels, mattocks, etc.) to do the work for the identified project, and occasionally pull trailers to the site on behalf of the DNR. Contractor shall organize crew logistics according to DNR project manager specifications for appropriate staging of project resources, including crew, equipment, and materials such as stones, posts, signs, and seed.
