This project will include the creation of spaces for the Brookfield Library, the Brookfield Parks & Recreation Department offices and recreation areas, town gathering and meeting spaces, and additional spaces as deemed necessary or desirable by the Town of Brookfield. The project may involve the re-purposing of the existing building, demolishing the existing and constructing a new building, or the re-purposing of part of the existing building mixed with demolishing and reconstructing the remaining portion. The Town seeks an architectural firm that will work closely with library staff, municipal staff, boards, commissions and stakeholders to study and assess the condition of the existing building and site; to prepare comparative options for schematic designs with budgets for the development of the new community center on the former school site; and, ultimately, to develop a functional and aesthetically appropriate preliminary design with a construction estimate for the new community center.
