To install a sludge dryer at the Paseo Real Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)to more effectively manage sludge disposal and to eliminate the 11,000 cubic yard sludge stockpile at the plant. Limits in quantity have been established by the Caja Del Rio landfill to accept this special waste containing high water content. Due to the time it takes to produce compost that complies with applicable regulations, it has resulted in a continuous accumulation of sludge at the WWTP. The Dryer System is a treatment solution that will allow the Facility’s dewatered biosolids to achieve Class-A disinfection requirements set forth by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
