WORK INCLUDED: Supply and deliver to site all materials necessary to construct a 11'-8" X 5'-9" aluminum box culvert, full aluminum invert, toe walls and 4'-6'' long perpendicular wing walls. MATERIAL: The Aluminum Box Culvert, Aluminum Headwalls and perpendicular 4'-6''' Aluminum Wing Walls shall have a span of 11'-8" and a rise of 5'-9". The assembled Aluminum Box Culvert shall have a minimum length of 40' and a maximum length of 43' to accommodate full plates to avoid extra cutting charges. The aluminum plates shall be fabricated from 5052 alloy aluminum having a corrugation with a pitch of 9" and a depth of 2 1/2" along with aluminum reinforcement ribs, meeting AASHTO M 219 specification. The culvert shall have a full aluminum invert with inlet and outlet aluminum toe walls. Bolts and nuts shall be in accordance with ASTM A 307 or ASTM A 449. All Aluminum Structural Plate Components shall be fabricated in the U.S.A. and meet the material requirements of AASHTO and ASTM. Alternate Galvenized Steel Box Culverts will not be allowed. The Aluminum Box Culvert design shall be based on LRFD Highway loading per AASHTO Design Section 12 Design Load HL-93 with 2.0' of cover. Illinois Structural Seal will be required on the shop drawings for the Aluminum Box Culvert.
