Red Hat is used across the entire MD THINK platform as a platform shared service. It is used to support all partner agencies on the platform. 1. Red Hat Runtime bundle includes the JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) which is a critical component for running Java applications on the MD THINK Platform. JBoss EAP reduces operational costs, improves resource utilization, and accelerates development cycles for applications hosted on the MD THINK platform. It includes a management console and command line interface (CLI), used with RedHat Ansible (details below), that provides administrators with a unified view into configurations, deployments, security, and subsystems. 2. Red Hat Application Foundations includes Red Hat Fuse which is an integration platform that sends/receives files to various systems and processes them. It supports the implementation of various APIs that expose data to various agencies. In the absence of this subscription, MD THINK will not have access to any security patches when they become available and will not have access to support if there were to be an issue that MD THINK cannot solve. In addition, MD THINK would not be able to create new connections. 3. Ansible Automation Platform is an enterprise wide automation tool that provides tools and capabilities for configuration management, deployments, orchestration, and patch management. This product is heavily used by MD THINK staff to support all applications hosted on the platform, setting up automation jobs to manage and scale MD THINK platform environments more efficiently. It is critical and is embedded in all Infrastructure and application tasks that MD THINK performs with respect to all agency applications hosted in the MD THINK platform.
