This RFP seeks the total cost for the schematic design, blueprints to construct, and materials (including structural materials and hardware) of a barn to be used by the Southington High School Agriscience Program. Based on inquiries with the industry, we approximate the barn design would be a 36’x60’ barn with a sloping roof design, containing overhanging eaves on both sides. The sliding breezeway doors should allow for a tractor to drive through the facility. Other general specifications the district would like included in the proposal is a heated bathroom for staff and students, a tack room, three 12’x12’stalls, and one 12’x24’ community stall. An add-alternate of a 12’x60’ center loft designated for storage may also be included. This addon would require a staircase and hayloft doors as part of its design. Douglas Fir posts with cedar siding is preferred to best handle the New England weather.
