The Maplewood Special Business District (SBD) is seeking proposals from qualified firms or teams to design a free-standing wayfinding kiosk that is both functional and reflective of the historic downtown Maplewood Special Business District. The selected firm will provide design services, recommend optimal placement for four (4) kiosks, and assist the SBD in coordinating with the fabricator to ensure the successful execution of the project. The selected firm will be responsible for: • Designing a free-standing wayfinding kiosk that complements the historic character of the SBD while maintaining durability and functionality. • Providing recommendations for optimal placement locations of the kiosks within the business district. • Assisting the SBD in working with the fabricator to ensure design integrity and material quality (materials and paints resist weathering, fading, cracking, and peeling). Ideal Features for the Kiosks: • Two-sided structure. • Display area for a map of the SBD and business listing. • Display area for promotional use and upcoming events. • Solar lighting to allow visibility of maps and information at night. • Brochure compartment for easy access to informational materials.
