• The consultant will be responsible for providing professional design engineering services in accordance with all applicable KDOT design, materials, and construction standards. Both projects are KDOT administered and will be let by KDOT. The project design, while conforming to all KDOT requirements, must also meet the intent of the City’s applications for funding award. • The consultant will be responsible for preparing a calendar with notable milestones, including all KDOT requirements for design, utility coordination, project bidding and construction, and letting to keep the project(s) moving forward to construction based on the Federal Funding Year noted in the applications (attached). • The consultant will be responsible for the coordination and completion on behalf of the City for all necessary 130X forms with KDOT. • The new trail infrastructure will include: o Multi-use path o Trail lighting o Storm sewers and adequate green infrastructure (BMPs, native grasses and street trees) o Pavement marking/signing o Trail signage o Traffic control (where necessary based on street crossings for trails) • The City owns all necessary right of way and has obtained easements for both projects. In the event, through the design process, a necessary easement is identified (either a temporary construction easement or permanent) the Consultant will work with the City’s right of way agent, to obtain needed right of way prior to the letting. The Consultant will prepare legal descriptions needed for acquisition. • Consultant will be responsible for coordinating all utility work, including any relocation of utilities prior to letting. • Plans will include a traffic control plan to carry traffic thru construction if necessary for street crossings. • Consultant should be prepared to provide their approach to delivering public communication throughout the process. • There will be at least one public meeting for each project. Note, these could be delivered jointly for each project if timeline allows.
